About the Artist: Rick Herron was born in 1949 in El Salvador. He has a degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia at Wise, 1982 and Graphic Design from Northern Virginia Community College, 1999.
He freelances as an automotive artist and has accepted and completed many commissions from classic car owners. He has licensing agreements with Carroll Shelby and The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Co., which allows him to sell reproductions of his art work with their authorization.
His main goal is to bring respectability to automotive art as fine art. Architectural forms and man made objects have always been included in paintings throughout history. Because automobiles have been the primary sculptural form of the 20th century, it is fitting that they be dedicated in fine art.
Rick paints his subjects on acid free illustration board using acrylic as a medium. He continues to paint and will accept Commissions on any matter as long as it is a machine and moves, i.e. aircraft, boat, auto, or motorcycle. |
